Jon Exley

Jon is an actuary with over twenty years of pensions experience. Prior to joining the European Pensions Solutions team at Barclays Capital in 2005 he worked for Mercer Investment Consulting with responsibilities ranging from the development of asset and liability modelling capabilities to direct client responsibility for technical projects with large pension funds, state funds, property companies and insurance companies.

Jon has co authored a number of controversial papers on the valuation and financial management of pension funds since the mid 1990s which have helped to bring the work of US financial economists in the late 1970s and early 1980s to the forefront of modern pension fund thinking in the UK and in Europe. He graduated from Imperial College in 1985 with a first in mathematics.
