Tom Steenkamp
(Chief Investment Officer Allocation and Research)Tom B.M. Steenkamp (1958) is CIO Allocation and Research and Member of the Board at ABP Investments. Tom B.M. Steenkamp Msc. Phd. works at ABP as Head of Research and Head of Research and Allocation since 1998. He previously worked for the Postbank and Financiële Diensten Amsterdam in various positions, and as an associate professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He graduated in Macro Economics at the University of Amsterdam and took his Phd-degree in Finance at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His PhD thesis was titled “The Pension Fund in a Corporate Finance Perspective”.
Tom is also (part time) professor of Investments at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where he is responsible for the Post Graduate Course in Investments and Finance. He is a member of the Investment Committee at Metalektro, the Dutch Pension Fund for the Metalworkers, Member of the Board at Inquire, Member of the Editorial and Advisory Board of Netspar, the Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement, and Member of the Editorial Board at the Journal of Asset Management.
